At 9-1, the Milwaukee Bucks look pretty great right now – and they're going to look even better with the official reveal of their fresh new City Edition uniforms for the 2022-23 season.

As previously revealed in a leak all the way back in February, the new "Gathering Place"-themed alternate jersey brings the blue, much like the water-themed 2020-21 look – but somehow the secondary shade taking the spotlight isn't the most eye-catching part of this new look. That would be the uniform's vibrant and colorful side paneling, an inspired blend of the classic Milwaukee "Irish rainbow" design with Ammar Nsoroma's Patchwork mural found on North Avenue in Bronzeville, weaving shades of blue, black, cream and green into an M-like accent on the uniform. Nsoroma's design also inspires the uniform's front shorts logo, a kaleidoscopic snowflake-like star.
The new City Edition uniforms mark the second in the team's "Gathering Place"-themed looks, after the blue 2020-21 jerseys. According to the Bucks, the theme is "intended to highlight the impact of sports in bringing people together and the importance to the Bucks of using their platform in the city to showcase the interconnection between the communities that make Milwaukee special."
"We are proud of the diverse community that calls themselves Bucks fans and continue to take our role in helping to find ways to bring the city of Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin together through our actions on and off the court,” said Bucks Chief Marketing Officer Dustin Godsey in the official announcement. "This uniform illustrates the patchwork nature of our intertwined community of fans, and we are appreciative of the artistic vision and partnership of Ammar Nsoroma to help bring these uniforms to life."
The new Nsoroma-inspired City Edition alternate uniforms mark the fifth and final look for the 2022-23 Bucks season, joining the Bucks' standard home whites (the Association Edition jersey), the road greens (the Icon Edition jersey), the redone black "Fear the Deer" Statement Edition alternates and the purple throwback Classic Edition uniforms. And I'd argue they're maybe the best of the bunch.
While the blue before was a little much and didn't entirely fit with the rest of the team's catalogue, this alternate is the perfect blend of recognizable Milwaukee Bucks elements – the font, the whole color scheme, the "Irish rainbow" – with a new refreshing main hue and a new mesmerizing take on the team's famed underarm paneling. They all come together for a uniform that really visually pops but still feels like the Bucks, specific without getting ridiculous or kitschy. And as I always say, winning will only make the jersey look even better.
Fans will be able to see these flashy and splashy new duds in action during every Wednesday home game at Fiserv Forum, beginning with the Bucks' game on Nov. 16 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
According to the team, the Wednesday home games will also feature a new alternate court design.
And as for when fans get their hands on the uniforms and related gear for themselves, the City Edition jerseys along with the entire themed collection are on sale now in the Bucks Pro Shop and online at the Bucks' website – perfect for the holiday gift-buying season.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
