Need something to get you over the hump this week?
Wednesday, July 24 just happens to be National Tequila Day, so it makes perfect sense to celebrate with an agave-based beverage.
Home to a collection of more than 160 tequilas, Blue Bat Kitchen & Tequilaria, 249 N. Water St., will be toasting the holiday with a day-long celebration.
From 11 a.m. to close, they'll roll out the tequila barrels with a variety of specials including $4 House 'Ritas, Tequila 'Ritas ($7) and Blue Bat margaritas (made with top shelf El Tesoro Platinum for $10).
There's also a tequila-infused menu to enjoy. A quick peek shows drunken mussels infused with El Charro Reposado, citrus & jalapeno ($12) and Salsa Borracha featuring El Charro infused salsa alongside a bag of seasoned chips ($9).
Prefer it sweeter? There's also the El Burro Esparkalo featuring white peach and lime shaved ice, tajin and Sparkle Donkey Blanco ($11) or margarita lime bars for $3.95.
If you get there early, you might even get a free mini 'rita. They're giving them away to the first 100 guests to step over the tequilaria's threshold.
