OCT. 8: Shafer Vineyards Dinner at Bacchus
Join Bacchus for one of their biggest wine dinners ever, featuring Shafer Vineyards, makers of Hillside Select. Andrew Wesson of Shafer will represent the winery for this special dinner. Wines will be paired with an exceptional five course menu created by Bacchus Executive Chef Nick Wirth, featuring items like crab stuffed skate wing, roasted duck breast and braised Strauss lamb raviolo.

OCT 13:  Milwaukee Food: Book Launch Reception at Rumpus Room
I’d be delighted if you’d join me at this celebration for the release of my new book, "Milwaukee Food: A History of Cream City Cuisine" (yes, this is a shameless plug). Enjoy beer, wine, and light snacks while mingling with Joe Bartolotta and hearing him talk about his beginnings in the Milwaukee restaurant scene. OCT 15: Bubbles & Bivalves: Oyster dinner at Harbor House
Take part in a delectable four-course dinner pairing the bivalve mollusk known as the oyster with coveted Piper-Heidsieck Champagne. Executive Chef Zach Espinosa will present a very special menu featuring dishes like Oyster "Rockefeller," chowder, and roasted veal with oyster stuffing.

OCT 17: 10-Year Anniversary Harvest Festival at the Milwaukee Public Market
Not only is the construction surrounding the market wrapping up, but Milwaukee’s Public Market is celebrating a decade of business. Join in on the fun at this autumnal celebration, which features pumpkin ale tapped from our giant pumpkin, freshly pressed apple cider featuring apples from Weston Apple Orchard, wood-burning stove caramel apples, and s’mores in the outdoor fire pit. There will be live music from 88NINE Radio Milwaukee and autumn inspired activities including pumpkin bowling, carving and scarecrow building. Hay rides will be available from the Third Ward Neighborhood Association.

Details: Festivities take place 11 a.m. to 4 p.m Event is free and open to the public. Guests will enjoy special savings from neighborhood merchants during the festival.

OCT. 17: A Night with Dracula at Meraki
In celebration of the Milwaukee Ballet’s production of Dracula, you are invited to Meraki for this extra special event. Get all decked out in festive black and red and sample scary good cocktails and Dracula inspired fare.

Details: Festivities start at 7 p.m. and tickets are $75 per person. Half of the proceeds will be donated to Milwaukee Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy and its Community Outreach Programs.

OCT 18: Ramen Fusion: Official Book Release Party
Join Chef Nell Benton, as she celebrates the release of her first book, "Ramen Fusion Cookbook," featuring 40 traditional and modern fusion recipes for ramen, along with full-color photography and step-by-step instructions for homemade noodles, stocks and more.  Enjoy free munchies and pick up a signed copy of the new book.

OCT 18: Free Cooking Demonstration with MasterChef’s Katrina Kozar
In celebration of the Milwaukee Public Market’s 10th Anniversary, they are offering free cooking demonstrations from Milwaukee native, & Master Chef contestant Katrina Kozar. Featured recipes will include jicama slaw and sloppy Joses.

OCT. 23: Murder Mystery Dinner at the Astor Hotel
Enjoy the old school creepiness of murder mystery dinner theater when the Historic Astor Hotel hosts The Murder Mystery Company’s production of The Best Laid Plans. All guests will participate in solving the classic "whodunnit" suspense drama, the reward being a special three-course, event-themed menu prepared by the Astor Food Services. Costumes are encouraged.

OCT 24: Cheddar: Author Book Signing at Larry’s Market
Join renowned author and cheese-monger, Gordon Edgar, as he presents his newest book "Cheddar: A Journey to the Heart of America's Most Iconic Cheese." Book sgning from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by a reading from 5 to 6 p.m. Books will be available for purchase and cheddar will be served.

OCT. 26:  Maculan Wild Game Dinner at Lazy Susan
Enjoy five courses by Chef AJ Dixon of Lazy Susan paired with the beautiful wines of Maculan Winery from the Veneto region of Italy. Angela Maculan will be present to provide additional information about each pairing. Courses include dishes like sweet and sour rabbit, boar shoulder with porcini pasta and venison osso bucco.
